second day of school

My second day of school started bright and early at 6:00 a.m. I was both excited and a little nervous about what the day would bring. After a quick breakfast and getting dressed, I headed off to school, eager to see what the new year had in store. The first class of the day was Family and Consumer Science (FACS). I was really looking forward to this class because it’s hands-on and teaches useful skills. We spent the first day getting to know the class rules and discussing the different projects we’d be working on. I was excited to learn about cooking, sewing, and other life skills that FACS covers. Next was Math. Math can sometimes be challenging, but our teacher made it interesting by introducing us to some new concepts and showing us the math problems we’ll tackle this year. We started with a review of what we learned last year, which helped me feel more confident about the subject. After Math, it was time for English. I’ve always enjoyed reading and writing, so I was excited ab...

First day of school

I woke up at 5:30 a.m. on the first day of school, feeling both nervous and excited. It was really early, but I knew I had to get ready for a big day. After a quick breakfast and getting dressed, I headed out the door and made my way to school. The day started with homeroom. I was happy to see my friends and catch up with them after summer break. We went over our schedules and talked about what to expect for the year. Our homeroom teacher gave us a quick overview of the school year, and it felt good to get organized and ready for the day. Next was Physical Education (PE). I always look forward to PE because it's a chance to be active and have fun. Today, we played some team games and did a few exercises to see how fit we were. It was a great way to wake up my body and get energized for the rest of the day. Plus, it was fun to see everyone getting into the games and working together. After PE, we went to Science class. I like Science because it’s interesting and we get to do exper...

story 7

On a remote, windswept island, there stood a lighthouse with a flickering beacon that had guided sailors safely for decades. Its keeper, a reclusive woman named Nora, lived alone with only the rhythmic crashing of the waves and the distant cry of seabirds for company. Every night, Nora climbed the spiraling staircase to light the lantern, ensuring its warm glow pierced through the fog and darkness, a solitary sentinel in the vast sea. One stormy evening, as lightning illuminated the churning waters, Nora noticed a small, unremarkable boat struggling against the tempest. Her heart raced as she adjusted the lighthouse's beam to guide the vessel through the treacherous waters. The boat, barely visible, seemed to be drifting aimlessly. With her hands steady despite the gale, Nora maintained the light, her gaze fixed on the vessel until, miraculously, it managed to steer toward the safer harbor. As dawn broke and the storm subsided, Nora found a note on the lighthouse’s doorstep, left ...

story 6

In the heart of a bustling city, a small, forgotten bookstore nestled between towering skyscrapers. Its once-gilded sign, now tarnished with age, read “Whispering Pages.” Inside, the air was thick with the scent of aged paper and quiet stories waiting to be told. Every evening, as the city’s noise receded into the distance, the store’s solitary occupant, an elderly man named Mr. Finch, meticulously dusted the shelves and read a book with the same reverence he gave to his cherished collection. One rainy evening, a young girl named Eliza stumbled into the bookstore, seeking refuge from the storm. Her eyes, wide with wonder, roamed over the shelves filled with books of every shape and size. Mr. Finch, noticing her curiosity, approached and offered her a leather-bound tome with a cover that shimmered subtly under the store’s warm light. As Eliza opened the book, her eyes grew even wider; the pages seemed to come alive, revealing a hidden world that danced in front of her, each word weaving...

story 5

In a forgotten corner of the world, nestled between whispering forests and rolling hills, there was a small, unassuming cottage that belonged to an elderly woman named Agatha. She was known in the village for her remarkable ability to mend not just broken objects but broken hearts with her gentle touch and wise words. Every evening, Agatha would sit by her window, knitting and listening to the songs of the night, all while waiting for the one visitor who never seemed to come—her estranged son. One particularly cold evening, a young woman named Clara, who had recently moved to the village, stumbled upon Agatha’s cottage. Clara was a traveler in search of stories, and as she entered the warm, inviting space, she felt a profound sense of belonging. Agatha welcomed her with a kind smile, and as they talked, the old woman’s stories of a lost son and unfulfilled dreams unfolded like the pages of a cherished book. Clara, touched by Agatha's stories, decided to stay and help the elderly ...

guitar class

In my guitar practice today, I’m focusing on learning "Happy Birthday." I’ll start by working on the basic chords: G, C, and D. First, I'll get comfortable with each chord on its own and then practice switching between them smoothly. I’ll also practice the strumming pattern to keep a steady rhythm. My goal is to blend the chords and strumming together so I can play the melody clearly. With some patience and practice, I’ll be able to play "Happy Birthday" confidently and add a special touch to any birthday celebration.

8.9.24 day in life

Today was awesome! I spent the day with my cousin, and we had a blast. First, we went swimming, which was super fun. After that, we watched a movie called “Rise of the Red.” It was a great way to spend the day. Swimming was the best part of the day. The water was cool and refreshing, especially since it was a sunny day. We played games in the pool and raced each other. It was so much fun and made us both feel really happy. Plus, swimming is a great way to exercise and hang out with someone you like. After we got out of the pool, we decided to watch a movie. “Rise of the Red Essay” sounded interesting, and we were both excited to see it. We made some popcorn and settled down to enjoy the film. Watching movies is always fun, especially when you’re with someone who enjoys them too. We laughed, talked about the characters, and had a great time. Overall, the day was perfect. Swimming and watching a movie made for a fun and relaxing day with my cousin. It’s nice to have these moments to hang...

story 4

In a quaint village nestled between rolling hills, there was a tiny bookstore run by an elderly man named Mr. Whitaker. The store was filled with dusty tomes and hidden corners, but its most magical feature was a small, ornate chest tucked beneath the grand window. Rumor had it that this chest contained a book with the power to grant a single wish to anyone who could solve its intricate lock. One rainy afternoon, a curious young girl named Eliza wandered into the bookstore, her eyes wide with wonder. Drawn to the mysterious chest, she spent hours studying the intricate patterns of its lock, her fingers tracing the delicate engravings. Despite the storm raging outside, she felt a warm glow of determination and hope, believing that unlocking the chest might be the key to something extraordinary. After several attempts and countless hours of effort, Eliza finally heard the satisfying click of the chest’s lock giving way. Inside, nestled among velvet-lined compartments, was a beautifu...

raising canes experience

I went to raising cane with my father. I was expecting very good food. Such as the chicken was nice and flavorful and juicy and whatever you usually look for in chicken. I heard that their sauce is the best sauce ever. I was observing that place. Such as the outside and the inside. They had a very long drive thru and a decently long line in the inside. I ordered a box and my father ordered 3 fingers (chicken). It came in like 7-8 minutes. Not that long of a wait for the amount of people there. I also got a dr.pepper for a fountain drink. My food contained 4 chicken finger, coleslaw, fries, a small toast, a canes sauce. 11.99 for the price. I thought overall the food and the place combined was a solid 4/10. Thank you for reading my review!

Story 2

One day, Tom was out running some errands for his mom. The neighborhood was safe, and he was finishing up his shopping when he encountered a woman with her children asking for food or money. Noticing that no one seemed to be helping, Tom felt a pang of empathy. He approached her and offered some bread and snacks he had just bought. The woman was incredibly grateful and thanked him profusely. She asked him to return to the same spot the following day at a specific time. As Tom walked home, he wondered why she wanted him to come back. He mentioned the encounter to his mom, thinking perhaps she wanted to thank him in person for his kindness. The next day, Tom made his way to the agreed spot. To his astonishment, when he arrived, the woman and her children transformed into radiant angels. They expressed their deep gratitude and told him that he could make a wish. Tom, with a heart full of compassion, wished for the ability to help all those who were ill and their families who suffered as a...

Day in my life 8.6.24

Summer break is one of the best times of the year. It means no school and lots of fun indoors! As a 7th grader, my summer days are filled with exciting activities at home. In this essay, I will share what a typical summer day looks like for me, from morning until bedtime. I usually wake up around 8:00 a.m. during the summer. I get out of bed, brush my teeth, and get dressed in comfortable clothes. For breakfast, I like to have bread with some cream cheese on it. After eating, I do my homework so I don't have to do it later. After breakfast, I enjoy spending time doing indoor activities. I might play video games on my phone or my laptop. Sometimes, I try out new recipes and bake cookies or brownies sometimes it doesn't end up well. I also enjoy spending time with my bird with is a blast most of the time. I don't really understand them soo yeah! For lunch, I usually have rice and daal with some spinach  and some sauce on the side. After lunch, I might watch a movie or play bo...

Story 1

Luaus was having the perfect day—sunlight warming his face and a gentle breeze rustling through the grass. But then, a sobbing sound broke through the tranquility. Curious and concerned, Luaus got up and followed the sound to find a girl sitting on the grass, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Hey, are you okay?" Luaus asked gently. Through her sniffles, the girl explained that her pet dog had escaped from the backyard and she didn’t know where to look. Luaus, eager to help and with nothing planned for the rest of the day, immediately offered his assistance. They began their search in earnest. They checked the inside of the house, called out in the backyard, checked the dog park, and even looked at the playground. They ventured out onto the road, calling the dog's name and peering into every corner. But as the sun began to set, their hope began to crash down. Frustrated but not giving up, they retreated to the girl’s room to make a list of possible places the dog might be....
