Horse riding camp day 3
Hello everyone!
Today was such a fun and exciting day at camp. I started my morning by waking up at 7:15. I went downstairs and made myself some breakfast, two eggs and two slices of bread. For lunch, I packed some tasty noodles. After eating, I brushed my teeth and changed into my riding clothes, ready for the day ahead.
Once we got to the barn, it was time to ride! Today we were split into groups, and I was with two of my friends, which made it even more fun. We started off by walking while doing “stand up and stay up,” which was a great warm-up. Then we moved on to trotting in two-point, and after that, we cantered!
One of the coolest parts was weaving through cones. It was a fun challenge and helped us work on control and focus. After that, we practiced circling in each corner of the arena. When we were in the circles, we worked on shortening our horse’s stride, and outside the circles, we practiced lengthening it. We did that for a while before finishing with cantering in a circle, focusing on looking where we were going. It might not sound like a lot, but we really worked hard!
After our ride, we untacked and gave our ponies a nice wash. Then we relaxed, laid down for a bit, and just hung out.
Later in the afternoon, we headed to the pool and played tons of games. It was so much fun and a great way to cool off! After the pool, we went on a trail ride. We walked, trotted, cantered, and even raced each other! it was seriously awesome!
That’s everything we did today! It was such a full and exciting day, and I can’t wait for tomorrow because we’re doing cross country riding!
Come back soon to read tomorrow’s blog!
Bye!!
