Horse riding week 2 day 4
Today was the fourth day of horse riding camp, and it was filled with exciting challenges and valuable lessons. The weather was perfect for riding, with clear skies and a gentle breeze. We started the day with a quick review of yesterday's skills and then moved on to new techniques.
Our instructor, Ms. Taylor , focused on advanced jumping exercises today. After a brief warm-up session, we were introduced to a series of more complex jumps. I was both excited and a little nervous, as these jumps were higher and required precise timing. We practiced various approaches to the jumps, learning to adjust our speed and balance to ensure a smooth ride.
One of the most challenging parts of the session was the "combination course," where we had to navigate a series of jumps in quick succession. It required a lot of concentration and coordination with our horses. My horse, Remi, was energetic but responded well to my cues. We managed to complete the course with only a few minor hiccups, which felt like a great accomplishment.
In the afternoon, we had a theory class on horse anatomy and care. Ms. Thompson explained the importance of understanding our horses' physical structure to improve our riding technique. We learned about the different muscles and how they affect the horse's movement. This knowledge will help us become more effective riders and caretakers.
The day ended with a cool-down games which made us feel better and more cool and some of them were non horsey games so that felt good. I feel like today was a great day and I can’t wait for tomorrow.
Overall, Day 4 was a fantastic experience. I feel like I made significant progress with my jumping skills and gained a deeper understanding of horse anatomy. I'm looking forward to more challenges and learning opportunities in the days to come.
